Update on Cole

So we went to the doctor today. Cole does have a ruptured ear drum in his left ear. But that is not all. The little stinker also has an ear infection in his RIGHT ear as well. This is the same ear that he had one in 1 month ago. Like Dr. Moore said last week, he was standing in the wrong line for ears. The doc today (not our normal one) said the magic number before they even talk about tubes is 5 or 6 infections...we are at 3 right now. He had 3 last year as well in the month of October. So maybe and hopefully this is it.

I also have to add that I am so proud of Coley. He's been going pee on the big potty a couple times a day for the past week. It all started at bathtime one night. He had gotten in the tub and I noticed him looking down. He started peeing and I picked him right up and put him on the toilet backwards...so he can watch and actually get it in the bowl. Of course he wouldn't go and said all done. Back in the tub immediately started peeing and again pulled him out and well did the routine. By this point he couldn't hold it in any longer and went in the potty. He thought it was VERY COOL and said Mama look. LOL Parker and I wear screaming hoorays and woohoos. Coley had a huge smile on his face. So now he finally know what he is supposed to do in the toilet. I'm so excited. He doesn't tell us he has to pee but insists on going when we change his diaper. Pee, dada, pee potty! Just had to document and share this wonderful little milestone. That's all.

I also had my 2nd photoshoot this afternoon. I think it went pretty good. I'm uploading pics now.

Websites

Since I've been asked to post the blogs I'm going to do that now before I forget...I really meant to post them in the last post but silly me forgot. What's new! ;)

Before I get to that. Please keep Cole in your prayers. He's had the toughest last 10 days with being sick and now he has a ruptured ear drum again. It's his left ear this time. I think it was his right awhile back. I discovered it this afternoon as I was taking him out of his carseat. It's funny because he's had croup, a fever for 4 days early last week, and a double eye infection. I thought the fever was from the croup even though on the 18th the doc said he did have fluid on his left ear. He's not one to pull on his ears or even be really cranky when he has an infection. I just think all the stuff he's been through this week has worn him out. Well I know it has because he's taken 4 hour naps everyday and is sleeping 13+ hours each night. Please just keep him in your prayers that he gets healthy and stays that way for some time. Thanks so much.

http://flipflopsandapplesauce.blogspot.com/ I really like this one. Make sure to check the archives. Good stuff!
http://teachingtinytots.blogspot.com/ This one is great too. She has themes with books and an activity to go with it.

All of the blogs are great and VERY valuble to us moms. It's always good to find things to do that we enjoy as well as our kids. It's even nicer when we can teach them at the same time. If your like me you will spend at least 6 hours going through each blog, all it's archives, and then continuing on to search each sidebar link on each blog. And through all of that you, if your like me, will develop a list 10 pages long of things to get from the Dollar Tree to complete these activities/crafts and a list of books for the library. Then you will buy the list of things and completely forget what craft it was supposed to be for and which blog you found it on. So I hope these keep you thoroughly entertained and occupied for some time and someday you may just get ONE craft done...like me the other day. lol Unless you want to be more organized about the whole thing...unlike me. LOL

Homemade paints and a little park time!

Yesterday, I was ambitious. I made some homemade "puff" paints. I found some cool blogs a couple weeks ago that are strictly activites to do with kids. Genius! Why didn't I find these like
a year ago. Anyway, this project was easy and we had everything. To make the paint: 4 tbl. spoons self-rising flour and 4 tbl. spoons of salt, water, and food coloring. To "puff" the paint
you put the "masterpiece" in the microwave for 20-30 seconds. The boys thought that was pretty cool. Cole even taste tested the paints and after about the 7th time I think he had had
enough salt. Coley's masterpiece. I've just started letting him paint and he LOVES it.
Parker checking out his "puffed" paint masterpiece.
This weekend I have a photoshoot and needed to scout out a park (Billy Dunlop). Well I took P and left. We both looked atrocious, but hey I didn't see anyone we knew there. We were good. I decided to bring my camera just in case. Well the park is beautiful and will be even more so once the leaves start changing. Snapped these of P while we were checking out the water.

This looks funky...I tried a new color pop action...I don't like it. Anyway, he had a blast throwing rocks into the water. Give the boy dirt and water and he'll make it FUN.

Cole is still not feeling well. I called the doctor this afternoon after he woke from his nap with his eye sockets filled with green gooey runny junk. He's had crusty eyes for the past 3 days with constant eye "boogers" while awake. Today, it wasn't crusty but runny and I knew something was not right. His eyes were really puffy and so red along with that. Well I didn't have to take him in (they had no room to even work us in) ,but she said he has an eye infection. We got some antibiotic eye drops so hopefully that will do the trick. I just hope we are well for our trip to Disney World in 2 weeks.

Snapshots from the last week or so!

My poser, at the Clarksville Fire Dept. We went on a tour with our Moms Club last week. Last weekend we went to the Austin Peay football game with some friends. Coley was totally into the game always asking "where ball go?" Parker was into the pom squad. They were right down in front of us. It was hilarious just before half time he leans on my shoulder kind of jumping around a bit and says, "Guess which girl I like?" I about died laughing. Then it hit him that he said it outloud I guess or was embaressed because of my laughing. We all got a kick out of it.
The whole gang except me who was taking the pic.
And P with the Govenor.
Parker had his class mascot this weekend, Waffles. Due to the boys being sick we didn't do much. We did manage to get out of the house with the boys to Toys R Us and the mall. We needed to get pics of Waffles and P doing something fun. We have a scrapbook page we have to make and bring back to school tomorrow.

Coley has another gash on his forehead again. Not sure how he did it though. I was drying my hair and he came in crying. I though he and P got into it. Then a minute later I saw the blood. It's about a 1/2 inch higher than the last cut and over about 1/8 of an inch. And it's a 1/4 inch long again and gaping open despite my many wrestling moves to keep my childs hands restrained as I held the wound closed and TRIED (got more all over my hands) to apply new skin to it. It now has a mini bandaid pulling it closed. This boy is going to be our SCARRED boy for sure.

Our nieces!

*edited to add: I was wondering why my colors were so blah and flat last night. Well I figured it out as I was going to bed. My profile wasn't set to sRGB...so I've spent the last 2 hours going through all the photos I've edited recently and switched the profiles. So pardon the yucky colors on my posts since well I don't know when, my bad. Lesson learned though. ;)

While in IL a couple weeks ago I was delighted to be asked to take thier pictures! These are my favorites so far. Aren't they beautiful little princesses?

My boys...they make me smile!

Daddy and Coley on Wednesday playing hopscotch. Coley looked so big that day to me. He's definitley growing up. I noticed when he runs now he takes longer strides...it's super cute...to me. ;)He also talking in sentences more. Still adjusting to school and Thursday he actually didn't enjoy gym time. He spent it by the door with his backpack and then eventually fell asleep. Poor kid. It may take all year but I am determined to CUT the umbilical cord. Parkerman...I mean Buzz Lightyear was at our house today. A very special package arrived today. P LOVES mail and thought it was pretty cool that he had a BIG envelope in the mailbox. Much to his surprise it was this costume that Grandma Patty bought for him. He tried it on right away and LOVED it. Mommy this is SO COOL...his exact words. It took a bit of coaxing to get it off of him, but he realized he was HOT and was drenched in sweat in just the 10 minutes he had it on. Hmm, so I'm thinking Coley should be Woody now!
I have my first "stranger" shoot tomorrow. I'm a bit nervous, but I'm sure it will all be ok. It was
Saturday with my brother...who by the way got poison ivy from that grassy field. So sorry Michael. Jenn I'll get around to editing Morgan's pic soon. I promise. ;)

Pic overload

Here are the rest of Michael. Some look very similar, but I gotta post em for Mom and Dad. He isn't always serious but it was hard to get a decent smile from him. Better yet it was hard to get pics with his eyes open and looking at the camera...and there was NO flash.

All taken with the 85mm 1.8 lense.

Wonderful!

The boys started preschool today. This is the only decent pic I could get of the 2 of them. Heaven forbid Cole hold Parker's hand. Geezy pete. Parker LOVED it and was so excited. He even says he's going tomorrow. Just Tuesday and Thursday buddy. Soon enough you'll be
going everyday...eek 1 more year! Cole on the other hand didn't have so much fun. He missed
his mommy except when they went to the gym and played with balls. He was happy then. I on the other hand enjoyed my 4 hours greatly. I got a ton of errands done that would have taken
a lot longer if I had 1 or 2 kids in tow. I did, however, have a little tearful session just after I left
driving down the road. It was weird not having at least one with me. Got over that really quick though.
