My baby is 20 months!

My little Coley isn't so "little" anymore! Daddy was holding him today and I really thought it was Parker. Those little legs are getting longer and longer. He so much fun right now, I just love him to pieces.

(If the text is funny on this post Blogger is acting funny or it could be I've never posted while using Mozilla Firefox. WIERD)

So last night I let Cinders out before heading to bed like normal and what wasn't normal was I turned on the backyard light. And....I found our pool collapsed. The poor thing did great the first 2 weeks up and then last week it started leaning or rolling to one side. Apparently our "level" area wasn't so level after all. Well last night sometime it gave way. Today we spent the morning leveling out the area and trying to "get it right" this time. The boys were eager to get in however, I convinced them that it was WAY TO COLD to get in today. Besides it was a very pleasant somewhat cool day today anyway...we had our windows open today. Anyway, here
is our big helper digging the grass/dirt and putting it in the pile.

And one of P from the other day after eating a Scooby-Doo push up. He was much messier than what looks in the picture. Not to mention the porch...aye! Red. Dots. All. Over. My. Carpet. They came out though. Whew!

Random Act of Kindness

This morning Cole and I dropped Parker off at school and headed to Lowe's to look around. We were having a good ole time playing peek a boo and so big as we casually walked around looking at various things throughout the store. Then I heard and saw this joyful older gentlemen greeting people as he walked by them. He was headed our way and stopped to talk to Cole. It's not too uncommon for people to stop and say hello to him...his cuteness draws them in. ;) Anyway, he said that he had something for Cole. I was dreading what he was going to pull out of his pocket because in the past Parker has been handed an nasty OLD piece of candy. Anyway, he pulls out a dollar bill and gives it to Cole. Then he pulls out another and hands it to him. Cole has a HUGE grin on his face but really doesn't understand at all that it is money. So Cole holds his hand out to the nice man. The man says well buddy I think there is MORE. He handed Cole two more dollars. At this point I was in tears and really thinking about it again is making me tear up. So this nice man gave Cole 4 dollars for no reason at all, just a random act of kindness. He kept apologizing that he made me sad. I assured him I was not sad at all but amazed at his kindness and generosity to my son. We hugged and I said God bless you.

It's not everyday that I would hug a complete stranger in Lowe's. It is also NOT an everyday occurence when someone is so kind as to give a child money for no other reason than to be kind.
So I pray that this man continues making the day of others. I know he totally made my day...make that week or month. ;) I never did get his name, but he's a local plumber at Gateway Plumbing.

My projects!

So I've been busy the last 3 weeks doing this MAJOR project! First off, let me tell you that I told myself that I HAD to get at least ONE of my unfinished projects done and SOON. I have a chair to reupholster (that is way to difficult for a beginner) and a cradle to refinish (why on earth did even begin to strip it of it's original color...way back when I was pregnant with Parker.) Eventually, those 2 might get done but I was determined to get this table done. You might remember last fall when I started? Well, that not so good refinishing job is completed and the table is back in use. This is the BEFORE pic And AFTER

It's amazing what a little stain will do to chairs! lol Just kidding I donated the old ones to Goodwill and bought new ones from Pier 1. We also got a new light fixture from IKEA (love that store.) I love it, well WE love it. Parker keeps asking where the high table went though. It has a new home for now called the attic. Now I want to paint the kitchen a sage green color. Bill says no he likes the red. I was like you won't have to help at all...didn't change his mind. He likes the red. It looks a little bright in the pic but it's not so orangy and bright in person.
I also made this roman shade for the playroom. It is the MOST EXPENSIVE window covering in my house. I fell in love with the fabric and the price was SO NOT something I would normally settle for but well I did. I love it and it was so easy...thanks Jenn for the over the phone consult and the pics.
And today I made these comfy pj pants. I was blog surfing a couple weeks ago and came across a lady that made herself pj pants from old bed sheets. Not the ugly ones the pretty kind that they sell at flea markets with the fancy trims and such. Well mine don't have the trim but I love the print and they are so SOFT and comfy. Not too bad for a flat sheet that cost me $1.50 and I can even make another pair out of the same sheet. I didn't even have to hem them...I used the bottom of the sheet that was already hemmed. ;) I plan on buying some pink trim of some kind and adding it to the bottom for a little something. Lol, I was trying them on after finishing the waist band and my they were clear up to my ribs. Parker looked at me and said, Mom they are too high! I chuckled and said yeah I know. So I had to redo the waist and cut a few inches off. Anyway, I'm wearing them now, so comfy and are perfect for summer.

Grumpy face because I stopped pushing him in the swing to take a picture. I'm cool...wearing Daddy's sunglasses.
Cole swinging like his big bro. He even tips his head way back.

A few pics from yesterday afternoon! We've been busy the last week. REAL busy. We had lots of Moms Club activities, projects at home, company, and an overnight stay in IN. Whew! It's nice this week to kind of relax. Except Parker has summer school this week so we have to him at school at 8:30 which make it hard since we've been sleeping til 8 the past 2-3 weeks. Adjustments.

A ROCK'n good time!

This morning we had a Moms Club outing to a rock quarry. The boys had a blast...there were big dump trucks and front loaders involved. Oh and LOTS of ROCK. My little point n shoot came through for me too. We toured the quarry in a van and these were taken through the window.

The tires on this "bad boy" $20,000 EACH! Yep, that is 80,000 for one front loader. AMAZING!

Summer fun!

Summer fun for us this year is right out our back door. We decided or (me mostly) that having a pool in the backyard would be a heck of a lot better than lugging child 1 and monster 2 to the pool with all the necessities. And after going to the pool for the first and possibly last time this year yesterday with our Moms Club, my decision to go with our own pool couldn't have been bettter. It cost $15 for just me and the 2 munchkins to swim and by george I was making sure we got our $15 worth. Oh and your not supposed to bring outside food or drinks this year. Well, I did and my kids ate them too. Geesh, I had to scrounge around the house for the last 5 bucks we needed to get in...no we are not that poor (I just didn't want to have to go by the bank) yet alone have more money for snacks. So after 3 hours of swimming and 2 very tired boys we went home.
So today we got the pool set up and filled only after a marathon around Clarksville to find accessories for the Easy-set pools. All the stores carry the pools but don't sell or are out of the accessories. Geesh! Don't have the chemicals in yet...I would totally screw that up so that will wait for Bill. Parker got to jump in as it was filling and Coley was napping. It was frigid but he survived. I love this one. He was teetering back and forth on his lobster and kept saying, "Mommy come help me I'm going to sink."
This was NOT Cole's initial reaction. He was scared to death and screaming. He didn't think he could touch the bottom. So I had to grab his foot and actually put his foot on the bottom. After about 5 times of me doing that he was good to go. It's perfect height for both boys and hits Cole right at his arm pits.
Everyone is welcome to come swim! They would love some swimming buddies.

My little pumpkin!

This first pic is actually from the other day, but I'm in love...the eyes (fixed on an airplane in the sky), the water droplets on his hair, and soaked clothing. From today. I actually figured out how to get him to SMILE and LOOK at me at the same time. Today at Sunday school he learned a new word and has said it over and over again all day. He thinks it's pretty cool too. Aaaaaa-men! Says it so clear and we laugh everytime he says it. You really can't help it. I mean honestly look at the picture, how does this NOT bring a smile to ones face. Love this guy so much!
Love this photo too! I wish I could get everypic with this crisp focus on the subject and such creamy skin tones. Practice, practice. Again those EYES!
Just want to share a little something that hit home for me today while at church. The BIG IDEA of today's message was "Make Him first, and He will hold your life together."

He is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of all creation; for in him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or authorities- all things were created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. Colossians 1: 15-17

Never fear I am here! lol

Added 2 more pics.

It's been a little crazy around here. We went to Georgia for 6 days and came home Monday night. It was a great trip. Bill had the honor of being chosen as Morgan's God father who was baptised Saturday. We also got to see Peyton's dance recital. She was so beautiful and did GREAT. I did a bit of shopping with the in-laws and enjoyed the time away sans boys. Here are
just a few pics I took over the weekend. This one is too ADORABLE. The smile. The hand.
The gang. Peyton, Cole, Parker, and Luke.
